From Cromulant to Craptacular: The Top 12 Simpsons-Created Words

With the upcoming release of The Simpsons Movie comes the enormous hype that has been unleashed worldwide: the numerous 7-11 makeovers to Kwik-E-Marts, BurgerKing's new Simpsonizeme website that uploads your photo and turns you into a Simpson-esque character, Mr. Burns taking over the blog of David Neeleman, JetBlue's chairman and founder and the giant Homer holding a doughnut painted on the Dorset hillside in Britain next to the Cerne Abbas Giant. The pagans weren't too happy about that.

Cracked.com has created their own list of the Top 12 Simpsons-created words, a collection of hysterical and memorable words from popular episodes that, if you watch enough Simpsons, you will remember. Unfortunately Jebus and Yoink didn't make the list but are recognized as honorable mentions.

My favorite has to be "cromulent", as in "Embiggen is a perfectly cromulent word" from the Jebediah Springfield episode. The word is used throughout the episode, along with Embiggen to make bigger or overpower. Hilarity ensues.
